2010 was loaded with a lot of great success stories. Rubin Williams continues to compete as one of the top 200 meter runners in the US and World. Symone Evans and Jordan Diaz receive Track and Field Scholarships to UCSB and University of Louisville, respectfully.
Rubin Williams - continues his goal to be the top 200 meter sprinter in the US. For the 6th year in a row Rubin continues to be one of two athletes to have made the finals at the US Nationals. With a personal record of 10.13 in the 100 meters and 20.32.
Symone Evans jumped a CCS leading jump of in the Triple Jump. Jumping 38'9" at the Los Gatos Top 8 meet, naming her the Field Athlete of the Meet. Her season PR of 39.2 kept her in the top 3 athletes in the CCS and top 15 triple jumpers in state of California. Symone finished her senior year at Leigh HS as Most Outstanding Athlete and receiving a combination of both athletic and academic scholarships to UC Santa Barbara. GO GAUCHOS!
Jordan Diaz began her 2010 as Indoor All American in the 800m at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships. Jordan's outdoor season was stopped short with a minor leg injury. Prior to her injury Jordan was awarded a full Track and Field Scholarship to The University of Louisville, KY.
Our Girls Indoor All American Sprint Medley Team breaks the CCS Indoor/Outdoor Sprint Medley Relay record by 2 seconds. Our all Leigh HS girls team of, Sarah Williams, (Fr), Symone Evans, (Sr.), Sarah Cline, (So.), and Jordan Diaz, (Sr.), ran 4:07.68 beating Los gatos HS girls relay record from 2002 of 4:09.27.
